JESUS TODAY - REVELATION 19: 11-19

Christmas is over and the New Year begins.  We have been reminded of Jesus, born as a fragile babe into a pivotal time of World History.  And Mary...  And she gave birth to her first born son; and she wrapped Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn (Luke 2: 7).
God announced the birth of His only Son to the lowly shepherds.  Not to kings or in the high courts of the law; nor in cathedrals or the bastions of opulence and power.  Jehovah God chose, as He often prefers, the least of these, those through whom His power and grace is best glorified.  And, God the Father selected a lonely hillside where the Shepherds kept watch over their flocks.  Fitting that Jesus calls himself our Shepherd; protecting us in the same way from predators.
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.  He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake (Psalm 23: 1-3).

The Big AM 380 and Host Ron Rosen

Monday, I'll be chatting with Ron Rosen at the Big AM 380  / 2PM central time / 3PM Wisconsin Radio time.
I'm looking forward to sharing and hope you'll call in or listen later.  www.tuneln.com
It is so very beautiful today.  Sun shinning, trees turning and in my prayer time this morning with Marj and Ray...  wind rustling through the trees like taffeta skirts trailing over a church threshold; near by cords of wind chimes reminiscent of bells tolling over the landscape from a church steeple. There is no better place to worship.
As an update I've not been good to keep up with this blog.  I'm working on a "project" which some of you know about and are lifting up in prayer. Thank you.  I'm hoping it will be finished soon so that I can get back to writing the third book in the Wood's End series.   And let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; and do confirm for us the work of our hands; Yes, confirm the work of our hands (Psalm 90: 17).

God's Love and Protection / "EVEN FROM ETERNITY I AM HE" Isaiah 43: 1-13 and Saint Patrick's Breastplate Prayer

I try and read the Bible everyday.  If I miss I just feel this hunger for the nourishing, inspiring, comforting, and yes, even the correcting word of God.  At the moment I'm reading 2nd Samuel, but I flipped forward and came to Isaiah 43: 1-13.  Here God gives us a picture of who He is.
Heaven is My throne, and earth is the footstool of My feet... (Acts 7: 49a).  And to quote from one of my favorite morning prayers.  St. Patrick's breast plate prayer:

I arise today through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity.  Through belief in the threeness; Through confession of the oneness of the Creator of Creation.  St. Patrick: missionary to pagan Ireland in the 4th century AD.

You can read all of the passage in context in Isaiah chapter 43 yourself.  I'm just going to quote bits of what is revealed of God in relationship to His people Israel.  And also in relationship to all believers wherever we may live; regardless of the denomination in which we worship.  If we hav…

Very nice interview with Eli from the Truth Squad.  I do quite a lot of interviews and don't have to agree with everyone who is willing to speak to me about my books.  I'm grateful to get the word out.  But especially enjoyed Eli who made me think of one of my own sons and is a gifted host.

START WITH A POEM

http://www.amazon.com/Alexandra-Clair/e/B008PY1XIQ

If you've read the first two books in the Wood's End Series you may have noticed that I began each with a poem.  Why?  I guess because I occasionally write poetry and much appreciate better poetry - King David, Robert Frost, T.S. Eliot.

Using a poem to open the first book was accidental.  I came across something I'd written long ago at age twenty three and thought it fit what the fictional character of Andrea was going through.  The second book opens with an excerpt from a much longer poem.

Below is the poem I plan to open the third book with; The World in the Wood.  Unless, of course, I write something else or stumble on some long forgotten verse between now and completion of the third in the Wood's End series that seems to fit better.

Will open the third, yet uncompleted book in the series,
The World in the Wood
