6/1/2015 Insert to the blog below.
Quote from actor Vince Vaughn.   "My idea of treason is that you sell secrets to the enemy," Vaughn told GQ.  "He (Edward Snowden) gave information to the American people.  Snowden didn't take information for money or dogmas.  Governments claim to write endless laws to protect us, a law for this, a law for that, but are they working?  I don't think so.  The consequences are that there is a staggering loss of freedom for the individual."

Vaughn also called NSA leaker Edward Snowden "a hero," saying, "I like what he did."

I met Allen Keyes at an event and asked him about Snowden. He pointed out that Snowden is in Russia helping the enemy. We don't actually know how much, if any help they are getting, but, I have to ask.  Who sent Snowden there?  It's pretty clear... the US could have contained this.  But an intractable US President whose foreign policy is basically not to have one is the answer that comes to mind.  So that said... after this little insert... below is the blog I wrote when all this first happened.

I'm about to start a new writing project.  This means that when my television stopped working I took this as a good sign.  I write better with less in my head.  That said I try and catch Sean, Rush and a few others on the radio driving here and there.  I'm partial to Sean.  Sometimes I tune in to Late Night in the Midlands. I like the full spectrum and tend to think aliens are real,  Vince Foster was murdered, Illuminati-Satanists have infiltrated the global field of governments, Hillary Clinton cannot be trusted to manage a dog pound, President John Kennedy was not hit by a single magic bullet, and certain wars have been criminally entered into by this country in order to keep certain administrations in place for an additional four years.  Oh... and I firmly believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ.  Sovereign and all powerful, He is even now "at the door."

And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS" (Revelation: 19: 16.)

So, now that I can be further labeled...  let me say that I was not going to write about the Edward Snowden Affair.  If the administration continues to over-react we could very well see parallels with the Alfred Dreyfus Affair that shamed France and has long been remembered and referred to as a reactionary over correction.  Well, there was, after-all, so much more for the French government of the time to hide.

The questions about whether Edward is a hero or a traitor, the mainstream press attempts to discredit him without hearing the larger more crucial context of what he disclosed, talking down to us by touting his age and failure to graduate from High School... well I can't go there.  That would be another blog.  I've never intended my blog to be political.  But, I must say that I like Edward Snowden.  I'd like to make him a nice dinner of fried chicken, greens, and lemon pound cake.  I'd like to send him to bed early so he can get some rest with the gospels and my book, Discerning Spirits, on the beside table with a good reading light.  I pray for his parents and ask Jesus to give them peace.  I hope God guides this young man to a place of refuge.

Mostly what I like about Edward Snowden is his youthful courage and willingness to shine a spot-light on needed truth.  As the Christian blessing goes...  God"give you peace, perfect peace, courage in every endeavor."  I don't believe for a minute that Edward Snowden acted lightly or alone.  I do believe he acted knowing he risked his life.  I don't have to agree with everything he did and how he did it, but I'm grateful that we know more today than we previously did about a very threatening trend in American government.  And if truth be told, a suspicion already in the public and collective thought-pool of expanding awareness.  No!  We have not been paranoid and most of us fully understand where we are in prophetic-church history.
Just as my generation organized and "protested" it is every bit the right of this current generation to do the same.  Just as my generation was the conscience of the Vietnam War, Edward Snowden and others like him, are holding up a mirror.  Here are some of Edward Snowden's quotes.  Make up your own mind and remember.  Only time will tell how important his role will be as history looks back at an important juncture.  The French never imagined that today any one would remember Alfred Dreyfus, their convenient scape goat, deflecting needed and systemic accountability.

The consent of government is not consent if it is not informed.

This country is worth dying for.  (Rows upon rows of white military crosses and stars of David, too many on foreign soil, attest to the fact that past generations agree.)

Unfortunately the mainstream media now seems far more interested in what I said when I was 17 or what my girlfriend looks like rather than, say, the largest program of suspicious-less surveillance in human history.

Seeing someone in the position of James Clapper - the Director of National Intelligence - baldly lying to the public without repercussion is the evidence of a subverted democracy.

This disclosure provides Obama an opportunity to appeal for a return to sanity, constitutional policy, and the rule of law rather than men.  He still has plenty of time to go down in history as the President who looked into the abyss and stepped back, rather than leaping forward into it.  (And hoping to take our children with him).

My favorite...  I wasn't fond of High School.
If they had taught a class on how to be the kind of citizen Dick Chaney worries about, I would have finished high school.

A government that will not hold itself accountable, that systematically fails to restrain and even prosecute the actions of its agents that, in the name of government assault human rights in the bureaucratic exercise of their duties, is a criminal rogue enterprise and must be judged as such.  The list of such abuses is too long to enumerate, longer and more shocking than any previous time in American history associated with any other single presidential administration.

The broader points of what are on my mind to share would be lost if I tried to name the many relevant scandals.  You don't need me to tell you.  How many will be forgotten as soon as we move onto the next scandal, the next distraction?  Will we let Brian Terry and those that died in Benghazi be forgotten or will we persist in demanding accountability and lasting change.

If the end result of congressional hearings and shocking revelations concerning the abuse of power and failures to protect citizens, bringing justice to widows and orphans... if this end result after all this show by our elected officials is not accountability in real change and speedy prosecution with jobs lost and budgets cut well... I'm at a loss.  Lets call the kettle black.  It is what it is.  We have intentional posturing by enemies of God.  We have a serious threat to freedom.  We have policy and practice that too many mistakenly imagined as capable of withstanding eight years of such strategic and planned assault whose ground work was intentionally introduced in previous administrations.

Words can frame the issues, but sincere hearts drive needed revival and change.  Many have looked into the face of risk and decided that this country is worth it.

From cities, towns, and rural byways we came together to elect people who we believed would hold sacred our trust.  We have found corruption at the ballot box with votes  subverted and as a body have remained silent.  We have too long looked the other way and to our own sphere of family, work and home.  The reality and construct of the larger threat demands that we rise to the ferment and practical management of change, which we still, by God's grace and mercy can bring about.

What do our Pastors and Priests have to say from the pulpit?  Spiritual revival that steps into the wider arena; that for each heart dictates the moral authority by which we act to protect for future generations a free place to live is a mandate of spiritual calling.  Respect for the law of the land equally administered, regardless of status and station, and no one person or criminal entity above the law, is the responsibility of ordinary people to safeguard.

That we are powerless to impact dramatic and healthy systemic change goes unproven by the broad historical record.  This includes our own history as a nation under God.  To believe we are helpless to impact destiny and ferment needed change is a failure of faith and a lie of satan.

The overwhelming threat of the radical agenda of this current "Obama" administration is a conviction fueled by radical-ideological and intellectual elitism - arrogance that evidences dangerous contempt for common citizens of this country whom they don't happen to agree with.  That we, whomever we  are, unique creations of God, in-dwelled by God with a desire for liberty; the instinct to self determine a course of action no matter the opposition - that certain leaders believe we can not be trusted  to make our own decisions.  I think we see where this is leading.  Thankfully we have the laws of our forefathers, the constitution of the United States already in place, even if presently challenged.

The real question for people of faith is not what political party... The valid question for our time is:  Is this politician a globalist?  One world government, one currency, one military enforcer, and one global dictator is predicted as the precursor to the start of the last seven years of world history described in the book of Revelation.   We are seeing power brokers in all areas moving humanity toward the future we do not want, and must not passively approve.

Many of us now see this corrupt stronghold for what it is.  We see the threat of a fate at odds with the  moral principals we hold dear.  People of faith and Judeo-Christian religion of itself has always been at odds with power grabbers and despots.  That we are no longer viewed by some elected officials as citizens of a free republic  contributing to the healthy community of discourse and ideas, but as a threat that must be spied on, is a dangerous barometer of what could follow if a return to constitutional law is not brought about by every peaceful means possible.

We look to corrupt Washington and Pablum elected officials who got to Washington and decided that holding onto power in the name of compromise took priority over the promises made to their constituents.  We look to pastors and theologians who have bought the satanic lie that there can ever, in actuality, be a separation between church and state when the state is corrupt and an administration at odds with the rule of law, the constitution and the moral laws of a righteous and just God.  It was this very intimidation that paved the way for Hitler, even as martyrs to faith died decrying the evils of Nazism.

Every church in the land needs to throw off the yoke of this fundamentally flawed premise and address what three generations of failed legislators have largely, with too few exceptions, failed to stand in solidarity against.  There will certainly be more conflicts between states asserting their rights and the federal government dictating autocratic changes which fly in the face of reason and morality if balance, allowed for in our founding documents, is not restored.  We can no longer look at this in terms of party platform, but must take personal responsibility to insure we, as individuals, have representation faithful to the electors; not corrupted by special interests and narrow special interest clicks - crony politics.

The Edward Snowden's of this world, young and willing to take risks for what they consider to be dangerously flawed and systemically corrupt have historically always had an important role to play - informing needed correction.

These are my thoughts.  As always, I look forward to hearing yours.
