WHO ARE YOU IN CHRIST JESUS - CALLED BY HIS OWN GLORY AND EXCELLENCE

I’ve been thinking a lot about how I feel when I come to God in prayer and how those feelings have changed over the years.I loved my earthly father, John Patrick Clair.As much as I loved him and longed to know him better he was distant and a bit of a mystery to me.He died when I was eighteen.Typical of his generation he worked very hard as an attorney and also for the state of Massachusetts.In addition he helped his sister, Lillian, with a family business after she became a widow.His parents emigrated from Ireland and his mother was not present for much of his life.
How we view our earthly father very much impacts how we pray to our heavenly Father.If we come to Him with the hurts and pains of past wounding we may project that onto God.We might think we are not entitled to His love or even feel uncomfortable when we consider the depths of His love for us… so great that He died that we might live.We may, deep down, distrust that He’ll really help us and see Him as capricious.  Our praye…
