CONFLICTED POSSESSION / AMBULATORY POSSESSION

There are five states of possession which I described in my book: Discerning Spirits: Visonary Gifts in Practice.  All examples are reflected in Scripture.  These states can sometimes be seen as a process as in a cold settling into pneumonia and pneumonia becoming congestive heart failure.  But not always.

Judas is Ambulatory Possessed. We know he was possessed because scripture says so. And Satan entered into Judas who was called Iscariot, belonging to the twelve (Luke 22: 3). Judas is fully operational. He interacts and plans the betrayal of Jesus in a cunning and methodical manner. Judas' altered condition is extreme and yet the internal control by Satan is not evident to those he plots with (Luke 22: 4-6). Nor is it clear to the disciples with whom he has traveled, lived, and worked over the last three years (Luke 22: 21-23).
Read Mark 5: 1-20. Compared to Judas, the man from the tombs, appears to be the most radically impacted by possession, but the truth is he is more likely…

THE NEPHILIM: SATAN FAILS IN A FIRST ATTEMPT TO CORRUPT THE DNA OF MAN / LAST DAYS LIKE THE DAYS OF NOAH

Updated October 31, 2013
Satan can not create and is not creative.  As a created being all satan can do is imitate.  This fallen creature, once a beautiful cherub, is singularly focused on perverting the creation which God fixed when he formed man from the dust of the earth.  Just as satan was a visible and tangible presence to Adam and Eve, there was a time when some demons had that same physicality in the presence of man. These demons are called Nephilim. Scripture tells us that they procreated with human women. A hybrid, subset of creation came from that union. The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them.  Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown (Genesis 6: 4).

We can not fully grasp what a serious affront this was to God unless we view the consequence that followed. Read the account of The Flood / Genesis: chapters 6-9.

So who were these Mighty Men of Old,Nephi…

TWO PORTRAITS OF POSSESSION

Question: Do you sometimes wish you could find solid teaching material, or personal study material, on some of these issues long ignored by most denominations?  I wrote: Discerning Spirits: Visionary Gifts in Practice providing an overview of this topic.   You can order it from Amazon.
In six hours I'll be teaching at a church I formerly worked at. I love going back and seeing familiar faces. I don't choose the lessons, but follow a subject schedule that comes out each quarter. Tomorrow we'll be looking at Mark 5: 1-20. The author of the lesson referred to demon possession as mental illness and misquoted scripture to support that wrong assumption.
This "coincidental" topic fit perfectly with my desire to prepare some personal study and or teaching material for use by others. I want us to recognize the differences between certain types of possession. Tomorrow I'll be contrasting two very different portraits of possession. We'll look at the "man from the…
